National Science Foundation
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1950 “to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; to secure the national defense…” NSF is vital because we support basic research and people to create knowledge that transforms the future.

Provides a common website for federal agencies to post discretionary funding opportunities and for grantees to find and apply to them.

Provides information about active federal and private funding opportunities in targeted research areas.

The UF Libraries Grants Management Program supports the research and training of students and library faculty; and all processes related to submission and management of Libraries’ grant-funded projects.

Internal Opportunities
UF Opportunity Seed Fund
Annual seed grant program that supports new projects and/or new collaborative partnerships and targets interdisciplinary, faculty-initiated research initiatives with potential for extramural support.
Programs Offered by the UF Office of Research
The Office of Research uses a combination of carry-forward funds and earnings from the UF Research Foundation to fund seven internal support opportunities.
Faculty Enhancement Opportunity Awards
These are part of President Machen’s efforts to support and enhance professional development opportunities for faculty. Award amounts vary. Applications are accepted and put forward to the Provost’s Ofice in the Fall and Spring via an internal PHHP selection process.
CTSI Funded Research
The CTSI Pilot and Collaborative Projects Program provides intramural grants to support the growth of interdisciplinary and investigator-initiated research across UF’s broad range of scientific disciplines.
